A welcome home after Christmas is a very special time for the entire family. Everyone puts their best wishes on the card and wishes everyone a very merry Christmas! I have heard so many times from friends and family that they wish they had a Christmas home decoration or a Christmas tree this year, instead they sit in front of the TV and watch the news or play video games. With so much going on, it is sometimes hard to make that extra effort and get ourselves a little something extra special this year, so we all appreciate a welcoming home decoration when we can get ourselves a little something different at Christmas. A Christmas tree is just the thing for a welcome home, where you can just relax and remember the good times you had over the last year.
A welcome home is a place you want to be, a place you go and spend time with loved ones. Christmas is a time of joyous celebration and laughter, family gathering and gifts given and received. In a welcome home, there is a sense of festive warmth and cheerfulness, people gather to share fun, good times and make new memories. This is the perfect time to get in the spirit of Christmas!
With that in mind, your first step is to get yourself some Christmas decorations. A welcome home is a festive place, a room you want to be in, it should be decorated! And while I say ‘can be decorated’ do not think you have to spend a fortune on these decorations – a few well-chosen and carefully placed decorations go a long way and really make a difference. There are many ways you can get yourself a welcome home!
A beautiful welcome basket full of gifts for all your friends and family members is the perfect way to start off your welcome home plan. Make sure you fill up your basket with items that will show that you’ve put some thought into it. Christmas themed items work best as they give you a chance to display your creative and innovative side. You might want to include an ornament, or an old-fashioned spoon and fork set, an assortment of fancy-looking glasses and a sign that says something like ‘Welcome Home, Feel Stroll Free’.
Decorate your tree in Christmas themed colours. White is always a safe bet, but feel free to go all out with your colour choices this year! White is great as it gives you lots of space to play with and it also makes a nice backdrop against which to display your decorations. A tree without Christmas themed decorations looks flat and rather uninspiring. So if you’re not sure what colour to choose, then go for white!
After you’ve got your tree and your decorations, it’s time to think about where you’re going to place them once they’re all done. Are you going to stick them on the wall? Perhaps you could position them in a prominent position in the garden? Or perhaps you want to make the most of your welcome home by putting it close to your front door?
In these days of self-adhesive packaging, it’s hard to make a bad move when it comes to sending your guests a present. But that doesn’t mean that it’s impossible to make a good move. Instead, use some careful planning to make sure that your welcome home stays in tip-top condition for years to come. Make sure that you have picked a box that fits its contents well. Remember, it doesn’t matter how big the boxes are if the contents inside are of a small size. Wrap the box carefully – put some tape around the edges to stop it from collapsing in on itself – and put some sort of lid on it to keep it safe.
If you have any personal or sweet memories that you’d like to include, now’s the perfect time to write them down! Write your best wishes for Christmas on the inside, and write a few words about the other people who will be moving into your home as well. You can also include a short poem or a special message about how happy you are, and how excited you are for the new year. That way, your welcoming letter will be a warm and heartfelt expression of your excitement at welcoming everyone to your home for Christmas! The inside message is not just an attachment; it is a part of the Christmas welcoming package!
